What's my Story?
OK, here's the short version. I grew up in the Chicago area, while surviving Catholic school. Fast forward to college in Ohio, then Boston University, where I earned a BA in Psychology. THEN I discovered California- I visited SoCal and became a permanent Californian.
That’s where I met Bobbi, immediately fell in love (we’re still together), and moved north to the SF Bay Area- lock, stock, barrel, dog, and cat. It didn’t take us long to zone in on Santa Cruz, move there, meet musicians, and start playing gigs. I continued to work as a professional musician for many years with occasional work in natural foods stores. It was a smooth, living in the moment life and it suited both of us well.
I stayed in the natural foods biz, moving into sales and eventually sales management on a national basis. This morphed into food brokerage, regional/national sales and brand management, eventually as a solo entrepreneur. I was good at this work, but it was tough to keep it organized, and it took a lot of energy to fight through the challenges.
The passion for my work and other parts of my life started becoming affected- my relationship, my connection to music…and I started realizing I had effectively painted myself into a corner (I still didn’t know about ADHD and its effects on me). Then came therapy, and the ADHD diagnosis, and that changed everything. In my search for help, knowledge and guidance I discovered ADHD coaching, and a school where I could learn to be an ADHD coach- the ADD Coach Academy. That was in 2002. I’ve been an ADHD coach now for over 13 years, and I love it more and more each year.
I live in Santa Cruz, California, on the incredible Monterey Bay, with Bobbi-the love of my life. We've lived here for many years now, and love being near the coast and our great beaches and coastal hills. I’ve mostly retired from professional music-making, though I play all the time. I also love photography, and I shot many of the pics on this site (except for the blog page and where otherwise indicated).
